Dillian Whyte's dynamic boxing career is a story of perseverance and determination. Born in Port Antonio, Jamaica, Dillian moved with his family to the United Kingdom at the age of twelve.
His fighting career began in kickboxing and MMA before turning to Boxing at age 20. In his first amateur bout, he defeated Anthony Joshua, a future Olympic gold medalist.
After suffering his first career defeat to Anthony Joshua in December 2015, shoulder surgery proved pivotal to Whyte's second coming. An 11 fight winning streak followed against the likes of Derek Chisora twice, Joseph Parker, Lucas Browne and Oscar Rivas.
On the cusp of a World Title shot, Whyte was sensationally knocked out by Alexander Povetkin at Fight Camp, having floored the Russian twice just moments before. Dillian however finished Povetkin off quickly in the rematch and reinstated himself as the number one challenger to the WBC crown.
Dillian battled some very difficult times during this period but persevered holding the No.1 Ranked Heavyweight in the World spot for over 1,000 days. Dillian also claimed the two top knockout wins in 2018.
Next Dillian will finally fight Tyson Fury for the World WBC Heavyweight Title in 2022.
